From its beginnings more than 50 years ago, Arvest Bank has prided itself on a commitment not just to its customers, but to the communities in which we operate.

Shantell Owen, a private banking manager who works at our Downtown Bentonville branch, is one of the more recent examples of that commitment. Having moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1994, Owen was so impressed with the experience she and her husband had while opening accounts at the bank that she pursued a career with Arvest.

Fast-forward more than 20 years, and Owen is now the one putting her experience and expertise to use by serving many of Arvest’s private banking clients. She’s also putting her experience and expertise as the mother of two to use as a board member for the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County.

Featured in the March issue of Celebrate Arkansas magazine, Owen reflects on some of the lessons she learned growing up in small-town Missouri and how she’s now trying to be a positive influence on kids throughout Benton County. Owen says she knows first-hand the personal and lasting impact an organization like the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County can have on the children who come through its doors.

Mark Ryan, loan manager for Arvest Benton County, said Celebrate couldn’t have picked a better example of commitment to community than Owen.

“We’re so proud of Shantell’s involvement with the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County and other community groups throughout Northwest Arkansas,” Ryan said. “She is a fantastic example of someone who lives the culture we strive to create here at Arvest.”
