Arvest Bank in Siloam Springs, Ark., recently sent care packages to U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan. This unit will return home soon so the six boxes included “party food” to show appreciation for a job well done! The troops enjoyed a party with all sorts of snacks to celebrate the end of their tour.

Arvest associates raised money to purchase the items in the care packages by donating $3 each Friday to wear jeans to work.

Last December, the associates sent eight boxes to another troop stationed in Afghanistan. The care packages included items like magazines, lip balm, Gatorade packets, nuts, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, shoe inserts, hard candies, eye wash, beef jerky and other comfort items. This unit was stationed in a very remote area of Afghanistan, and due to security reasons they could not send us a picture with the items but sent their appreciation.
